Cat Boarding

We like to offer our cat guests a bit of Rest & Relaxation while they are with us. We like seeing them bathing in the sun from the large windows that provide natural light in the room.

Cat Boarding

At Maple Hill Canine Center, we continue to offer cat boarding as part of the original Maple Hill Kennel services provided since 1992. Our feline guests enjoy a quiet area, with lots of windows for natural light and fresh air. Multiple levelled enclosures allow for those cats who like to climb, and cat boxes for hiding and napping.

We provide litter boxes that are cleaned twice daily, refreshed and/or changed as needed.

We provide meals and fresh water twice daily and offer interaction a minimum of two times a day. Allowing the cats to come out of their enclosures individually. We offer toys, scratch posts, treats and affection. Whatever your cat would like from us, we try to accommodate them all according to their individual needs.

We are able to administer medications to cats if required.

We offer a separate room for our feline guests. We have four large multi-level enclosures. They can accommodate one to two cats, with our adjoining enclosures offering accommodations for up to four cats. Each enclosure has access to the natural light and fresh air from the installed windows. They are not able to get out as page wire fencing is on the outside to prevent the curious guests from venturing outside.

Frequently Asked Questions

🐾Do you offer a long-term boarding rate?

Yes we do. As stated on our boarding page, our long-term boarding rate is $27/Day. How the rate is applied; For a boarding reservation of 30-Days, the first 14-Days of the reservation would be charged at the regular boarding rate of $30/Day, and the remaining 16-Days would be charged at the long-term boarding rate. If your dog boards with us from January 1st - January 14th, and then returns on January 16th until February 1st, the long-term boarding rate would not apply as this is considered two individual boarding reservations. We try to accommodate each client on an individual basis when it comes to long-term boarding reservations more than 60-days, so it is best to reach out to us.

🐾I tried to drop off my dog, but no one was there?

Our drop-off and pick-up hours are 8am-10am and then again from 5pm-7pm - We are NOT open from 10am - 5pm.

🐾 What type of cat litter do you use?

We use clumping, non-scented, cat litter, in a large stainless steel litter box.

🐾 What vaccines does my cat require to board at your facility?

We require all cats to have the core vaccines recommended by the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.

🐾 What vaccines does my dog require to board at your facility?

All dogs are required to have the core vaccines recommended by the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. For more information regarding the core vaccine requirements click here.

🐾 Why can we not drop-off or pick-up our dog throughout the day?

With people and dogs coming and going all day, it doesn't allow our dogs to have any quiet time. Some of our guests find the noise intimidating and therefore, it doesn't allow them any quiet time where they can relax without feeling intimidated with the noise. . It also means that we need to have someone at the kennel during the entire day, and given we are family owned and operated with only 3-people handling your dogs, it would not allow us to go for long walks with your dogs.

🐾 My dog stayed for 3-nights but I was charged for 4-nights?

The majority of boarding kennels charge by the Day not the Night. So for example, if you drop your dog off on Friday at 5:00 p. m. this will count as 1-Day, so a stay from Friday to Sunday would include charges for 3-Days of boarding. Be advised the Final Day of boarding is not added to your dog(s) reservation estimate on the Paw Partner online booking system until confirmed by staff.

🐾 Does my dog need a kennel cough vaccine?

No we do not require the vaccine, but we do recommend that you get the vaccine as a preventative measurement. However, we ask that you NOT bring your dog to board at our facility if they have had the vaccine within 14-days of their reservation.

🐾 Will my cat interact with other cats?

No we do not let cats interact with each other unless they are from the same household.

🐾 Will my cat be able to hear or see the dogs?

This depends on your cat, as we sometimes use the room to house smaller breeds, that are quiet and used to living with a household cat. They will hear the dogs coming into the reception area, as they are very close to this area.

🐾 Can I bring their dog bed?

We recommend that you don't provide your dog with their bed from home, as we cannot guarantee it will stay clean or not get damaged. We offering bedding to the dogs, using blankets and large towels, as we can easily throw these items in the washer and drier and provide your dog with fresh, clean and dry bedding.

🐾 What do I need to bring with my dog?

We ask owners to bring their dogs diet, medication and anything that they feel might comfort their dog while boarding with us. For example a small blanket, or toy from home with familiar scent for your dog.

🐾 Do you board Cats?

Yes we do - please see our cat boarding page!
